Plot Summary
During a scientific expedition in Iceland, visionary scientist Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser), his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson) and their beautiful local guide, Hannah (Anita Briem), are unexpectedly trapped in a cave from which their only escape is to go deeper and deeper into the depths of the Earth. Traveling through never-before-seen worlds, the trio comes face-to-face with surreal and unimaginable creatures-- including man-eating plants, giant flying piranha, glow birds and terrifying dinosaurs from days past. The explorers soon realize that as volcanic activity increases around them, they must find a way back to the earth's surface before it is too late. With spectacular photo-real environments and revolutionary new filmmaking techniques, "Journey to the Center of the Earth" is an epic adventure that takes audiences directly into the heart of our heroes' voyage, bringing them along for a wild, visceral ride.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: If, at this moment, the child next to you grabs your arm and hollers "Duck!", the movie will have been worth the ticket price.
Rotten: Flat and predictable, though the visuals are often striking.
Fresh: Most of the movie, directed by Eric Brevig, is as daft, outlandish, and speedy as it needs to be, and, for all its newfangled effects, touchingly old-fashioned in its reverence for the Jules Verne novel that inspired it.
Fresh: Journey shows that Brevig knows exactly what visual effects can do -- and more important, what they can't.

Great One!
I took my son to see this movie this summer (he's 6). What a great time we had. It has a "squirm" rating of 0. The best. He didn't move a bit, glued to the screen! The only problem I had with the movie was it only lasted 25 minutes! O.K. O.K. It was full length, but with all the action and the rollercoaster ride, it seemed like 25 minutes. What a great time I reccomend this to every one!!
Jorney to the Center of the Earth Review!
This Movie was very exciting and I enjoyed it very much. 3-D or 2-D it is a good movie either way. Its a cool, Fast pace, Adventure Movie. It was alot better than I though and I highley recomemd this film to anyone 6 and higher. But I do not recomend buying it. Its only fun watching it once.
a Journey of family fun
This was a clean, fun, entertaining movie that I completely enjoyed. I am thrilled to see a movie that doesn't rely on language or sex for appeal. It was fun and creative.
