Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: There are no orgies of planetary destruction; the action almost never leaves the diner, which may be just as well, since a short scene in heaven looks as if it were filmed on the set of a community college Shakespeare production. – Mike Hale, New York Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Alas, after a brisk start, the script turns out to be a rough and humorless beast slouching its way towards utter ludicrousness. – Clark Collis, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Legion may traffic in signposts of the apocalypse, but the whole affair mostly indicates that we're in the movie wasteland that is January. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The down time between action scenes is deadly dull and the film's hoary cinematic shorthand (i.e., a young Black man enters the film to the sound of hip-hop and fights with his baby mama) is more terrifying than anything else served up. – Ernest Hardy, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

STAY AWAY

Wow, I cannot stress enough how much of a waste of time and money it would be for you to buy or rent this movie. I am a VERY forgiving movie watcher, yet I could barely sit through this flick. Despite the attempts to explain the events, the character interaction simply leaves more questions than answers. The movie completely glossed over possible story paths that would have been new and exciting to see, and instead opted for a tired, heavy-handed, cliche morality tales that is more suited to an after school special that a blockbuster film. Look, it was a really cool premise and I was really excited to see the film, and was totally disappointed in the final product.

Great movie.

This movie is excellant, if you pay attention to more then just the effects and the actors. If you think about the ideal behind this movie, it can give you quite alot of pause for thought. In a way, this movie could have absolutely nothing to do with religion. For me, it outlined how much we take for granted in the world, and the feelings people contain when put into life threatening, or extraordinary situations, for example the young man played by Lucus Black. Although he was very unconnected to the woman and her child, he felt a great sadness at the fact that there was no father, they were not sleeping togather nor dating, yet he felt compelled to help her in anyway possible. You do not find many people like that these days, so they are qualities that should be sought out much more often.

Love it!!!

I honestly didn't wanna watch this movie at first. Ended up going anyways, absolutely loved it. Now this movie isn't for everyone, 3 yr olds who need to be entertained: this isn't for you. It is for people who like movies based on the 'message' the movie is giving. You have to look at the big picture, I absolutely love the end. It really leaves you thinking with one of the last lines they say. If you like that sort of thing it is a MUST watch! This movie isn't a 2 hour action filled flick, if that's what ur looking for this isn't for you.
