Plot Summary

Marley is a yellow lab adopted by John Grogan (Owen Wilson), a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and his wife (Jennifer Aniston). Their idea was to give them a taste of parenthood, but the dog proved to be a hyperactive handful. He wreaks havoc, gets kicked out of obedience school and gets even worse when the children begin to arrive, yet becomes an indispensable part of the family. An adaptation of John Grogan's bestselling memoir about an incorrigible Labrador retriever.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: When the story lags -- and it does more than a few times -- there is Alan Arkin as Grogan's crusty editor Arnie Klein to help things along. – Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: The movie is ultimately less about the pain of loss than about the way families often take shape around a pet. – Stephanie Zacharek, Salon.com, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The production manages, against heavy odds, to make its canine star an incorrigible bore. The problem is bad parenting. – Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Marley & Me turns out to be the best -- and truest -- film about humans and our animals to arrive onscreen in a dog's age. – Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post, Jun 24, 2010

Marley a me a cute movie:

This was an adorable movie. Yes, it was sad at the end but it was so heart warming throughout the whole movie. But please, do not let the PG rating and cute puppy face trick you! There was many curse words, 3 sex scenes, and the ending might not be bearable for young children. This movie was overall a great family movie but a few cautions to look out for!

PG??????

Great film but really.... it should have been PG-13 for all the cursing and inappropriate stuff for kids. I went to the movie opening night, (on my birthday), and there were KIDS everywhere! When they swearing kept going on i saw some parents in the theater leave with their kids! It's a good move though!

it's PG-13!!!!!!

it should not be rated PG so beware! but other wise it's a pretty good movie.
