Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Though the stars are likable and attractive, the movie is a melodramatic and soppy affair.
Rotten: The comparative savvy that Wolfe showed in HBO's stage-to-TV transfer of Lackawanna Blues has gone missing.
Rotten: The film tastefully yet unenergetically chugs along.
Rotten: Richard Gere suffers less than Diane Lane. He gets by with a mixture of skill and self-irony. She acts up a storm in every scene, but you root for the hurricane.

Nights In Rodanthe
We were on vacation in Rodanthe when this was being filmed. My wife and I stood in our bedroom and watched the party on the pier out our window. My father-in-law talked to Diane Lane on the beach, but had no idea who she was until later. My wife and I loved this film and seeing so may familiar scenes throughout the film, made it especially exciting for us. This is a touching love story which captures the laid-back charm of the Outer Banks.
