Fresh: It remains the most structurally elegant and sneakily playful of thrillers! – Janet Maslin, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: Contains nothing to outrage or offend partisans of the original, yet neither does it stand to add much to their appreciation. – Godfrey Cheshire, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The movie lacks the chutzpah to even be a travesty. – J. Hoberman, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Van Sant has cranked up the realism about 20 points, but somehow what he achieves for the effort is a larger sense of banality! – Stephen Hunter, Washington Post, Jun 24, 2010

NO.

Everyone- see the Hitchcock original. It's much better. This still wouldn't have been a good movie even if it wasn't a remake of a classic and didn't have such big shoes to fill.

No Thanks!

Watch the original!

still scares me after all these years

I still say that the last scene is the number one most creepy thing I have ever seen on film.
