Plot Summary

Justin Duerr, long obsessed with the tiles, has begun a quest to unearth both their origins and meaning. Truth is stranger than fiction....
...but not as strange as science fiction. This movie has heavy elements of sci-fi, but it is truly a story about people obsessed with a real life mystery. Everyone loves a good mystery, but not everyone appreciates one when they see it. This true story had me riveted more than any thriller I've seen recently. The documentary made me feel like I was part of the group that discovered the tiles. So completely fascinating and mysterious! What is especially gratifying about this mystery is that there IS a solution. By the end of the movie you will know the answer to the riddle of the tiles. Those expecting supernatural thrills or space aliens will be disappointed. But if you appreciate a real life mystery, this is way up your alley.

if u love the urban legend-provoking genre of street art, u will thrill to this very well made and perfectly structured documentary. it is imbued with a poignant sincerity as it investigates the bizarre, genuine and very, very mysterious phenom of the 'toynbee idea' tiles. effing brilliant w extremely likable protagonists. caution- this is an utterly unique journey. here be monsters (& real-life suspense).
this is a story about authentic passion & and true compulsion, maybe even madness. wow
