Plot Summary

After 30 years as partners in the pressure cooker environment of the NYPD, highly decorated Detectives "Turk", played by Academy Award® winner Robert De Niro (Raging Bull) and "Rooster", played by Academy Award® winner Al Pacino (Scent of a Woman) should be ready for retirement. But, before they can hang up their badges, they are called in to investigate the murder of a notorious pimp, which appears to have ties to a case they solved years before. This adrenaline fueled psychological thriller features hip-hop superstar Curtis Jackson (Get Rich or Die Tryin'), Carla Gugino (Sin City), John Leguizamo (Moulin Rouge!), Donnie Wahlberg (Saw II and III) and Brian Dennehy (Death of a Salesman ) and was directed by Jon Avnet (Red Corner) and written by Russell Gewirtz (Inside Man).

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: It's not much fun to see these two reduced to Mad TV parodies of themselves. In the right movie, they'd stop coasting on their legends long enough to remind us how they became them. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Pacino has a few funny lines, as does Leguizamo, but not nearly enough to save the film from collapsing under the weight of its own self-righteous tedium. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Oct 18, 2008

Rotten: The movie is hectic, exhausting, and baffling. – David Denby, New Yorker, Oct 18, 2008

Rotten: In the end, neither actor can muster the energy to rise above the subpar material. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

boooooring

terrible movie so boring

sadly have to agree with the reviews.

Both al and robert try to be there but just never get there. I wish we could have this movie during their prime, I feel then they would have made this film awesome.
