Plot Summary

Tim Allen is back in the big red suit for more adventure and laughs in Disney's hilarious family comedy. Get ready for a thrilling sleigh ride as the reluctant Santa Claus faces his most chilling and hysterical challenge yet. As Christmas nears, Scott Calvin invites his in-laws (Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin) to join the festivities. The holidays take a chaotic turn when Scott discovers a way out of his "Santa Clause" and the mischievous Jack Frost (Martin Short) puts the big freeze on Christmas' big cheese! Unless Scott can save the day, it's going to be a very chilly Frostmas at the North Pole and all around the world. Will Scott be able to get his job back in the St. Nick of time? Celebrate the holidays with THE SANTA CLAUSE 3: THE ESCAPE CLAUSE. It's a gift the whole family will treasure.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The third though probably not the last in the successful Clause franchise, this latest installment again stars Tim Allen as the Everyman turned Father Christmas. – Manohla Dargis, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: This Styrofoam snowman of a sequel overdoses on its own candy-cane-colored sugary cheer. – Gregory Kirschling, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: What is seriously missing here is any sense of fun and warmth, which the other movies did possess. This one looks like work. – Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Allen looks silly, tired and bored this time in the fat suit and beard, while the movie presents the irritating Martin Short as Jack Frost, nipping at your nerves as Santa's nemesis in a bid to take over and (gasp!) commercialize Christmas. – David Germain, Associated Press, Jun 24, 2010

Worst in the series.

Compare the Santa Clause trilogy to the Shrek trilogy. Santa Clause / Shrek - Very good movies that established the franchises. Santa Clause 2 / Shrek 2 - Superior to their predecessors, but still the originals are great. Santa Clause 3 / Shrek 3 - Unnecessary, irrelevant movies.
