Plot Summary
Eleven-year-old Toe Thompson is the designated punching bag for the bullies of the suburban community of Black Falls, where his and everyone else's parents work for Black Box Industries, makers of the do-it-all gadget that's sweeping the nation. But during a freak storm, a mysterious Rainbow Rock, which grants wishes to anyone who finds it, falls from the sky. Suddenly, the neighborhood that Toe already thinks is weird is about to get a lot weirder. As the Rainbow Rock ricochets around the town - from kid to kid and parent to parent - wishes-come-true quickly turn the neighborhood upside down in a wild rampage of everything from tiny aliens to giant boogers. From Robert Rodriguez, director of "Spy Kids," comes a magical fantasy adventure told through a series of shorts that each brings to life the sometimes wonderful, often terrible, and totally out-of-control wishes that become far more than Toe and his neighbors ever imagined.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Yes, I realize this is a kids' movie, but that's no excuse for short-circuiting creativity.
Fresh: The latest child's-eye adventure from Robert Rodriguez, Shorts doesn't hit the heights of his Spy Kids series. But it provides just enough smart, silly fun for families desperately seeking an easy escape from hazy August humidity.
Rotten: The movie is as lumpy and misshapen as a giant booger.
Fresh: If parents feel like they've seen much of Shorts before, its celebration of mayhem and restless, thrill-seeking vibe will absorb young viewers, especially as the boredom of late summer begins to set in.

What are you talking about??? It was GREAT!
this is an awesome movie! totally original, forging new territory in interlacing stories in a kids movie. I found lots of messages I appreciated, my 7 year old thought it was the funniest movie he'd ever seen (and we see almost all PG and G movies...) and there's a booger (sp?) monster - who else has done that?
good movie no matter what
