Plot Summary
Though synchronized swimming may strike some as a marginalized, even obscure sport, for others it clocks in as a way of life - particularly for the committed young ladies who aggressively train to make a spot on the U.S. Olympics Synchronized Swim Team. Cheryl Furjanic's documentary Sync or Swim provides a firsthand depiction of nine of these women as they undergo day-by-day training, attempting to perfect an excruciatingly difficult routine where split-second timing is everything. Over the course of the journey, the women must also band together to show emotional support to a member of the team who is rebounding from a sudden and utterly devastating personal crisis.

Sync or Swim is more than just Esther Williams
Sync or Swim is an amazing story of the women trying to make the US Olympic team that goes to the Athens summer games. This is a grueling process to see who makes the team and this documentary follows them all the way through the Olympics.
If you are still thinking of synchronized swimming and Esther Williams is all that comes to mind then you need to watch this. Synchronized swimming always tips their hat to Esther Williams as the person who really made the sport famous but it has come so much farther than what she was doing. These ladies are primo athletes who devote themselves to their sport for years. There really isn't a pro route to go after this so it is really for the love of the sport.
After watching Sync or Swim I was ready to go out and learn some synchro moves myself. Synchronized swimming is becoming a hot workout trend now so you should buy this and get ahead of the curve, or should I say ballet leg? The London games will feature synchronized swimming so have an Olympic celebration and get this movie!
