Plot Summary
This box office blockbuster stars Academy Award-winner Kevin Costner ("The Guardian," "The Upside of Anger") and Grammy Award-winner Whitney Houston ("Waiting to Exhale") in a romantic suspense thriller about an ex-secret service agent-turned-professional-bodyguard, who never leaves anything up to chance, until he meets a pop superstar-turned-actress whose fabulous career takes a life threatening turn when she becomes the target of an obsessive fan. Written by Lawrence Kasdan ("The Big Chill," "Raiders of the Lost Ark"), The New York Post calls this film "Costner's sexiest role to date," and Gannett News Service calls it "an entertaining, suspenseful, romantic thriller... Costner and Houston generate sparks!"

Rotten: Two long hours and 10 minutes after this tale begins, Rachel and Frank seem no closer than seatmates on a long bus trip.
Rotten: The Bodyguard is an outrageous piece of saccharine kitsch -- or, at least, it might have been had the movie seemed fully awake.

I have only seen this movie once but I fell in love with it. This is one my most favorite movies ever. I just wanted to say that Whitney Houston's life will be be missed so much. R.I.P. Whitney, we will always love you. <3<3
An Icon
It is easy to take great movies and music for granted. We watch them, we listen to them and, just when something really bad happens, we come back and watch/listen to them again with more focused interest. This is going to be one of those movies people will look back on and say "this was one of the best movies created". Real talent is a rare occurence, both in Whitney Houston and also, Kevin Costner. This is a movie you buy now and keep for all time.
It about time!!!!
