Plot Summary
A man is suddenly thrust into the role of a single parent. Successful sportswriter Joe Warr (Owen) finds himself completely unprepared to raise his rambunctious 6yearold son Artie and juggle the challenges of a demanding job, running a household and the possibility of romance. Determined to bring joy back into their lives, he develops a revolutionary approach to parenting no rules, no chores. Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The Boys Are Back is based on a true story, and not in a good way. It's obviously true; otherwise why would anyone think it's worth telling a story so trivial?
Fresh: Owen, not chasing Julia Roberts or anyone else for a change, is pleasant enough making this 100-minute argument for unconventional parenting.
Fresh: A classy, intelligent, low-key affair and a fine reminder of what's really essential to most lives: family.
Fresh: If The Boys Are Back takes some emotional shortcuts, it still manages to convey some of the more mystifying aspects of parenthood.
Customer Reviews
Great movie
I accidently started to watch it and pretty soon it captivated me. It's a simple, relaxing little screenthing but I liked it so much that I will buy it. No shooting, no sex, no violence (except the violent laughter maybe and the waterballoons) but it left me with such a good feeling at the end. In my eyes that's a good movie. Get it!
