Plot Summary
Based on the harrowing true story, The Donner Party picks up after William Hastings steers a group, nicknamed “Forlorn Hope,” off course by promising a shorter route to California through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. After several early snowstorms, the group and its leaders (Crispin Glover and Clayne Crawford) find themselves lost, freezing and without any source of food. The threat of death and imminent starvation dissolves the group’s camaraderie as they are forced to sacrifice one another as a source of nourishment. Surviving only on the flesh of the fallen members of their party, the remaining travelers must weigh their consciences against their will to survive.

Worse than cannibalism
Good movie if you know absolutely nothing about the Donner Party. The only thing this movie gets correct is that some people left the Donner Lake camp and walked toward the Sacramento Valley. Other than that, little is historically accurate.
Dear director,
Read a book or two next time before you attempt another "history" movie, and get a historical consultant who actually knows history.

Good B movie. I have a heavy crush on Sara, Mara Lafontaine, and could watch her in anything, okay, she's a good actress as well as beautiful.
