Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: There are quite a few science-fiction movies scheduled to come out in the next year or so. We shall be lucky if even one or two are as absorbing and as beautiful as The Man Who Fell to Earth.
Fresh: Establishes [its] British director as one of the most talented and imaginative new filmmakers in this part of the world. It's a demanding effort which will provide a challenge.
Fresh: By turns, creepy and cheesy, literate and vapid.
Rotten: Undeniably long, Panavision-wide, but of questionable depth.

The Man who fell to earth
The ultimate movie of love and alienation-pardon the pun. All of us have fell for someone only to later
find out the person is nothing like you thought they were. Candy Clark was totally disdraught when this happens to her, and is convincing-and Bowie projects his betrayal as well in a depressive state. Its not the happiest of movies but is a very original movie for its releaase date.
Painful
This is the worst movie I have ever suffered through in my entire life. Nothing of significance happens throughout the entire film. I kept waiting for SOMETHING to happen, but it never did. This is the only movie I've ever seen that was actually physically painful to watch. Not even David Bowie saved this film.
The Man Who Fell to Earth
Replying to t_smith: I thought you were critiquing Erasurehead until you mentioned Bowie. In my opinion, this is a great flick, but I understand how it might require some thought on the part of the viewer.
