Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: The issues raised may make for some lively debate on the way home -- especially if it's foggy out. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Nov 22, 2007

Fresh: It's a horror movie of real conviction. It deserves to be a hit. – (CNN.com) Paul Clinton, CNN.com, Jan 4, 2008

Fresh: The Mist builds toward a climax so wrenching that I hesitate to recommend the film, but I think Darabont earns his vision. – David Edelstein, New York Magazine, Dec 1, 2007

Rotten: A combination monster/disaster movie, it explores issues as fundamentally elusive as the nature of man, the existence of God and the purpose of religion, and its conclusions aren't going to leave anybody feeling too good about whatever they believe. – Jack Mathews, New York Daily News, Jul 9, 2010

Best watched on a foggy day

Ranks up there with the finest of Stephen King’s works, this is a wonderful adaptation of his 1980 novella although the ending of this movie is somewhat astray from the book. Apart for the differences though I thought this was a wonderful movie both in the depth of the character portrayals (a classic trademark of Stephen King) as well as the scope of how the mind tries to find hope in a world that’s gone horribly wrong. A very eerie tale to say the least, best watched on a foggy day.

Good movie

Good movie very creepy. Didn't like the ending though. Left you hanging. Don't like iTunes doesn't offer the book.
