Plot Summary

Providing the romantic comedy genre with a decidedly queer twist, THE ONE is an effortlessly charming tale which proves that love is never simple! Hunky Daniel couldn’t have it better: great parents, a successful career and his beautiful fiancée Jen. But in his seemingly perfect life, there is one temptation- he has a thing for his adorable, openly gay former college classmate Tommy. After a few drinks, Daniel succumbs to his repressed desires sending these two on a torrid affair. Funny how love and lust have a way of messing up even the best laid plans of man!

Good Bones But Not a Comedy

The chemistry between Jon Prescott and Ian Novick is real and the ending is one of the possible realities. But the inconsistency lies in the fact that Ian Novick's character never let up in his pursuit of Jon's character and it bring the reader down a path that is misleading. Without spoiling the ending I can't explain that last line. I would have been satisfied with the ending if the Ian's character remained consistent. It is an American movie with a European ending.

Actually its not as bad as i thought, i like the ending

Do agree with the fact that this is an american movie with a european ending. the story itself isn't bad at all, the only problem i have is the editing, i would have to say its the worst post-production ever, some of the post-vocals are not even in sync. and i totally dont see why they edited their happy moments in the first few minutes of the movie. i think it spoils the mood of the movie, it didn't keep the consistency that a movie should have, its a little misleading i would say.

but over all, i do like the movie, the actors are great, they are really relatable. it would be way better if the cinematography were better.

Not Not Not a comedy

Really? Romantic comedy? This was not a bad movie in that the plot was realistic and the acting was good for a movie with it's production values, but this wasn't even a dramedy. Only the scenes with Tommy's campy friend were even in the comedy ballpark. Also have a problem with the character of Tommy. He comes off creepy. Almost a little predatory.
