Plot Summary
From director Joel Schumacher ("Phone Booth," "A Time to Kill") comes this big-screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash-hit stage musical! The Phantom, a disfigured musical genius, haunts the catacombs beneath the Paris Opera, waging a reign of terror over its occupants. He takes an interest in a young singer and, through tutelage and terror, helps her rise to stardom, only to see her fall in love with a handsome young man. The Phantom vows revenge and kidnaps her to be his eternal bride, but ultimately is transformed by the compassion of the young woman, and the love she feels for her young man, making the ultimate sacrifice in order that she may live and be happy. Starring Gerard Butler ("300," "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life"), Emmy Rossum ("The Day After Tomorrow," "Mystic River"), Oscar-nominee Miranda Richardson ("The Hours," "Sleepy Hollow"), Emmy and Golden Globe-nominee Patrick Wilson ("Hard Candy," TV's "Angels in America"), Simon Callow ("Shakespeare in Love") and Ciarán Hinds ("Road to Perdition," "The Sum of All Fears"). Nominated for three Academy Awards!

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The movie version of Lloyd Webber's swooning 1986 horror operetta has been directed, by Joel Schumacher, as if Schumacher were the world's hardest-working upholstery salesman.
Rotten: Takes everything that's wrong with Broadway and puts it on the big screen in a gaudy splat.
Rotten: The plot is impressively free of anything that does not smell of unpasteurized melodrama.
Rotten: The movie misfires as often as it connects.

THIS IS.....
MY FAVORITE MOVIE IN THE WHOLE WIDE FLIPPIN WORLD!!!!! there is nothing that can compare to this, it's absolutely AMAZING!
Phantom ROCKS!
Iread the book, saw the play, listened to the music, and finally, watched the movie! It was great! All those who loved Phantom of the Opera play would love this movie!
Nothing is better!!!
(first review(maybe)) Omg I am so happy that this movie is up because about a week ago I posted a comment on the songs and I said that I would love it more if it was on movie and there it is. This is a amazing movie, very talented people, amazing story and if people dont like it they really have NO CLASS. I wouldn't pass this movie up for any app, other movies, or songs. Also the price is great because its first of all 10$ for a movie that you can bring seriously anywhere (bathroom, camping, boring meetings) and this is a new movie not in the world but for iTunes and it doesn't cost 15$ (now thats over the top). Buy it if you want a classical, outstanding, millon star movie dont pass this by.
