Plot Summary
It takes a feature-length film to fully capture Homer Simpson's epic stupidity. After 18 seasons, 400 episodes, and 23 Emmys, The Simpsons has become a feature-length motion picture based on the hit TV series. In the eagerly-awaited film, Homer must save the world from a catastrophe he himself created. It all begins with Homer, his new pet pig, and a leaky silo full of droppings - a combination that triggers a disaster the likes of which Springfield has never experienced. As the fates of Springfield and the world hang in the balance, Homer embarks on a personal odyssey of redemption - seeking forgiveness from Marge, the reunion of his splintered family, and the salvation of his hometown.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: The picture works because, despite the fact that it took nearly six years for the filmmakers to bring it to the screen, it doesn't strive for greatness. It's fleet, concise and clever in a nut-ball way.
Fresh: Nobody should have a cow. Bigger and longer don't always mean better, but The Simpsons Movie is still a cut above.
Fresh: A very funny, solidly entertaining movie that, despite its unshakable obsesion with undergarments, is as sweet as a Kwik-E-Mart Squishee.
Fresh: Hurray for Homer. Long may he rave.
Customer Reviews
As good as any episode from the past 18 years.
Having seen this movie twice in the theaters and again on DVD I can't stress enough how enjoyable this movie is. For many people the jokes will go right over one's head, but through the cleverness and the precise timing of the writer's material some of the more 'revealing' jokes (like Bart as you've never seen him) will present themselves and really tickle your funny bone. What makes this movie so much fun to watch is that you engross yourself in the yellow skinned, four-fingered world of the Simpsons and realize that families should stick together no matter what is thrown in front of them (guess there is an underlying moral lesson in this movie???). Comic nuances and Homer's dimwitted punchlines have defined what makes the Simpsons such an icon to a worldwide audience and the movie continues in this tradition. Even the occasional prime time syndication watcher of the series will find the movie entertaining, but fans who know the ins and outs of the Simpsons family and those who know the backgrounds of each of the side characters (like Apu, Moe, Barney, Mr. Burns, Smithers....) will really take the movie to heart. By the end of the film, it seem like you've known them since the beginning when they were just simple cartoons that were first featured on the Tracy Ullman Show back in 1987. Look out for sight gags that would never make it on to the show, fast paced action, and animation that would only be appropriate for the big screen (budget constraints with the television series and such). Highly recommended!
Better than I thought....
When I was going to go see this movie, I thought it would probably be lame and cheesy. But what I saw was actually funny and likeable. I dont know about anyone else... but I thought it was hilraious! But why does it have to be rented? I dont really dig that....
THE SIMPSONS RULE!!!!!!!
Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig, does whatever a Spider-Pig does! Watch out! Here comes the Spider-Pig! Great movie! I love the Simpsons. Any Simpsons fan of the TV show will love the movie ! A Must watch!
