Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The Sorcerer's Apprentice should be rated U for Untouched by Human Hands.
Fresh: It's a fairly fun time for families, and Hollywood can -- and continually does -- build franchises out of far worse concoctions than this.
Rotten: As Balthazar, Cage doesn't disappoint. He's just manic enough to keep the character from becoming too predictable. More's the pity, then, that a pro like him has to cede so much screen time to his character's young protege.
Fresh: Once the filmmakers have dispensed with a grueling expository preface set in Arthurian England, this shameless Harry Potter knockoff is a pretty tasty bucket of popcorn.

Very Entertaining Movie!
You really can't go wrong with a Nicolas Cage movie. It's amazing how you can really use the so called professional critics to tell you what movies are good to watch, and what movies aren't. Just take their rating and "reverse" it. If they don't like the movie, go see it. Hello, this is a "fantasy", science fiction, type movie. It's not a drama. It entertains. It has action, and great special effects. It was well worth the money to see it at the theater. And, I look forward to purchasing it for my home movie collection.
Better than it looks
This movie actually surprised me. I thought this was going to be dumb but it turned out good.
Let me break down what I thought
Watching commericial: Either gonna be stupid or good
First five minutes of movie: Alright, this is going to be really stupid.
Halfway: I want to know what happens so I'll keep watching.
End: That was actually really good
