Plot Summary
Rodgers & Hammerstein's® cinematic treasure, “The Sound of Music” is the winner of five Academy Awards®, including Best Picture. In this true-life story, Julie Andrews lights up the screen as Maria, a spirited young Austrian woman who leaves the convent to become a governess for Captain von Trapp’s (Christopher Plummer) seven unruly children. Her charm and songs soon win the hearts of the children – and their father. But when Nazi Germany unites with Austria, Maria is forced to attempt a daring escape with her new family.

Rotten: The septet of blond and beaming youngsters who have to act like so many Shirley Temples and Freddie Bartholomews when they were young do as well as could be expected with their assortedly artificial roles, but the adults are fairly horrendous.

Fresh: The movie has almost everything: music, romance, kids, spectacular scenery, religion, sentiment, comedy high and low, and, at the end, intrigue and adventure.

About time
YAY!!!!! It's about time this movie came up. I love this Oscar-Winner Best Picture. Even if you don't like musicals, I seriously suggest you buy this for the historical context.
Where is the HD Version?
Great movie but where is the HD version? Come on 20th Century Fox. I want to give you my money, but you won't let me.
