Plot Summary
Jennifer Aniston stars alongside Jason Bateman in this offbeat comedy as Kassie, a smart, fun-loving single woman who, despite her neurotic best friend Wally’s (Bateman) objections, decides it’s time to have a baby – even if it means doing it herself…with a little help from a charming sperm donor (Patrick Wilson). But, unbeknownst to her, Kassie’s plans go awry because of a last-minute switch that isn’t discovered until seven years later…when Wally gets acquainted with Kassie’s cute – though slightly neurotic – son. From the people behind LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and JUNO comes THE SWITCH.

Rotten: The first third of The Switch, directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, is so bizarre that it leads you to wonder if, through some miraculous lack of oversight, the movie will blaze an unpredictable path. No such luck.
Fresh: Taken on its own terms, it's a light, sweet, curiously enjoyable misfit romance, whose real star is not Aniston but her magnificently awkward Lothario, Jason Bateman.
Rotten: Aniston and Bateman each bring a rare Bordeaux, and the writers bring Spam on white bread. You can skip the picnic or show up and have a glass of wine.
Fresh: A warm, quirkily observant film, strengthened by some appealing performances and a low-key, easygoing vibe.

Bateman and the kid
They say that chemistry is essential to romantic comedies (on a side note this is really more of a drama than comedy). The Aniston-Bateman chemistry, unfortunately, was lacking. The real appeal of this movie is the relationship between Wally (Bateman) and Sebastian (the kid). All of their scenes together are funny and/or endearing, especially the picture frame one. You'll have to endure some boring parts, but the heart of the story outweighs the problems (mostly with the script.)
A decent heart-warming comedy
It wasn't so bad honestly. The premise of a lady who wants a kid so bad that she doesn't wait to have one the natural way is one of those that shouldn't show face to too many different movies. There was Baby Momma - very funny movie; there was the backup plan - an ok movie, and then this one.
What made this movie work is probably the fact that the lead character is a guy rather than the girl having a baby (in one way or another). Also, what makes this movie different than the other two is that it mostly takes place several years after the pregnancy and birth of the child.
The story isn't simply about whole having a baby the unnatural way... watch the trailer and you will see what I mean.
Its funny, but not cheesy, over the top and ridiculous.
Well, I'll cut to the chase.... its a good movie. A a comedy that isn't afraid to tone down the ridiculous, and not afraid to show a little feeling and emotion - and none of that pathetic winey time of feeling, emotion or drama.
