Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: There is all too little of the quietly charismatic Sheen and all too much of Cassavetes, who is a dead ringer for the young Hugh Hefner.
Rotten: The town (comprising one house, a burger joint and no citizen who isn't a teenager or a cop) is overseen by Sheriff Randy Quaid, who displays all the reverence the script deserves.

The Wraith
This is still one of my most favorite movies. The reincarnation of a young lady's boyfriend, in the form of a futuristic car racer, who is out for revenge on the same street thugs who killed him, is "off the chain." No other movie about racing has come close to this flick, not even "Fast and the Furious." Some people believe that movies are simply entertainment, but I believe otherwise. One of the famous statements made by an associate of mine is, "Today's science-fiction will become tomorrow's reality." This movie was made back in the 80's, so I wonder if there are cars out there that run like the black super turbo in The Wraith. I believe that statement made by my friend, because if you look back at The Jetsons, and look at today's computer age technology with iChat and Web Cam communications it's true. I am totally surprised that a remake of this movie has not come out yet...(laughing out loud). The shooting stars that came down to merge and form the Wraith in the very beginning was an awesome opening for any movie I have seen--it kind of makes me wonder about screenwriter Mike Marvin's knowledge about the universe and reincarnation, because I share his beliefs that are present in this movie.
A movie a head of it's time
For me I liked this film. You seen Sheen at an early age also A hi octain pre fast five film. Also a way to see how justice can come in more ways than one. The only thing missing is the Soundtrack. I still say Itunes is missing a lot of movie soundtracks from the 80's. The Wraith is just one. The others are making the grade with Judd nelson. And also the Soundtracks to Iron Eagle 1 and 2.
This is a great movie.
One of the 80s great movies. It's a classic.
