Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: As Poppy Bush says, and says again,"You disappoint me, Junior."
Rotten: An interesting post-mortem on the still warm corpse of a presidency, but not top-shelf Oliver Stone.
Fresh: Stone's best film in years and one of the decade's great political pictures.
Fresh: Part satire, part biopic, part behind-the scenes political drama, W gets stranded in a no-man's land somewhere in between.
Customer Reviews
The movie was good, regardless of you feelings toward the man...
Josh Brolin did a superb job in his role as the president. There are too many who cannot separate their feelings about GWB from this film; try to think of this film independently. It delivers good insight into how this man developed into who he was in the White House. The music many have been distracting at times, but the writing, subtle humor and acting were all top notch. Bravo to Oliver Stone for another magnificently directed film.

This really needs to be said. Your political opinions are irrelevant (and probably pathetic and stupid anyway) , you're reviewing the film. For you ultraleftist loons who just have to squawk about bush, be quiet. As for the slack-jawed yokels who think he was a good president, watch the news, read the papers, the man is the nadir of executive management. None of this however matter to the quality of the film. Now for the review. Brolin does a god job of portraying the gormless live-action yosemite sam that this country bizarrely elected twice. That said, this film isn't really that entertaining. Worth a rent if you like, but not a buy.
It's good!
I don't know why people hate this movie so much. It perfectly explains why Bush's life turned out the way it did. It's a tragic tale, really. And besides all that, it's an entertaining movie in and of itself. Rent it.
