Plot Summary
WARRIOR tells the inspirational story of an estranged family that finds redemption in the unlikeliest of places…the MMA ring. Tommy Riordan (Tom Hardy), an ex-marine with a tragic past, returns home and enlists his father (Nick Nolte), a recovering alcoholic and former wrestling coach, to train him for “Sparta”, the biggest MMA tournament ever held. But when Tommy’s underdog brother, Brendan (Joel Edgerton), fights his way into the tournament, the two brothers must finally confront each other and the forces that pulled them apart. What ensues is the most gut-wrenching, soul-stirring, and unforgettable battle of their lives.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Director Gavin O'Connor comes out swinging in this flawed but fiercely moving family drama...Strong stuff.
Rotten: Warrior's three principle characterizations are compelling - Nolte in particular gives a tempered performance as the shambling, sad-eyed wreck of a dad - but not enough to mask the film's lesser elements.
Fresh: Warrior ends up feeling a lot bigger than you expect it to.
Fresh: The movie is so skillfully made, and the performances are so convincingly real (Hardy is sensational), that, as it reaches its cathartic, winning finish, it achieves a surprising compassion and honesty.

An Unbelievable Take on MMA!
Saw this movie in theaters and I was blown away. This movie is the "Rocky" of Mixed Martial Arts. It was fast paced, compelling, and made you want to cheer as if u where in the movie. Everything and more I hoped for. I told my friends about this movie for weeks. Now I have taken martial arts for years, and was scared it was going to be one of those bogus martial art/fighting movies. It wasn't. Everything was the way it should have been. Stunning and awesome.
Favorite movie of all time.
this movie was everything I was hoping it to be. surprised it wasn't more popular. The ending was the best part. The brothers really lay it all in the cage.
So underrated it's shocking.
i don't write reviews ever. the fact that this movie made as little money as it did, and has gotten as little award buzz as it has, is absolutely shocking to me. better than anything else I've seen this year and I'm insanely picky. watch it and tell everyone you know to watch it.
