Creepy. Crazy. Beautiful.
You'd think the transition from Low-Fi Velvet Underground influence to trippy, electro-punk would be a tough one, but Julian is insane so of course he can pull it off. His work with the Strokes was legendary but his work on Phrazes was a completely different animal. He's seriously an artist, and has proven that he has a major set of pipes. Plus, of course, he's mind-numbingly gorgeous. As showcased in this music video :D
I have been waiting...
I have been waiting for a Julian music video... Phrazes for the Young has to be my favorite album as of when it came out. I am loving his individual style that is different than the strokes, but still super catchy!
Julian Casablancas...Can We Say Genius?
His work with The Strokes was fantastic and Julian on his own is just brilliant. His solo album was a masterpiece and this song is no less. The music video itself is quite a work of art with nice effects and an abstract plot. He's just a genius. Even if you're not a fan of music videos, purchase this song if anything.
