Which Fergie Will We See In The Future?
This is the fifth single off of Fergie's album, The Dutchess. The first three singles, London Bridge, Fergalicious, and Glamorous, were mainstream pop songs with very shallow lyrics about Fergie's constant self-promotion. Then, she released the fourth single, Big Girls Don't Cry. It was by far her best song released, and didn't follow the usual pattern Fergie sets. It had very meaningful lyrics, a lot of emotion from Fergie, and still was very catchy. Just like her first three singles, it became a #1 hit. Clumsy is the fifth single. It also includes more mature, meaningful lyrics, and is still very catchy. It also includes excellent production from Will.I.Am. Although it is not as catchy as her previous singles, it is still a very solid song that is destined for a Top 5 hit. The music video is very good, showing how Fergie gets very self-conscious and clumsy around someone she loves. The video ends with her lover just accepting her for who she is despite her clumsiness. This sends a very good message to the many people with insecurities. It also presents the question, which Fergie will we see in the future? The mature one, or the meaningless, poppy one? I'm hoping it's the mature one.
