In comparison to their other music videos, this one is not the weirdest, which says a lot. But it's still got the trademark odd MGMT appeal. The beautifully desolate landscape provides the perfect backdrop to the almost melancholic feel of the song. Congratulations is not a praise nor a harsh criticism of fame; it's more of an acceptance. We're simultaneously appalled and mesmerized, so in the end, we all applaud.
