Do you get it?
Reading the reviews, either you get it, or you don't. For those who don't know, Felicia Day and The Guild are not singers/musicians (though Felicia is an accomplished violinist). They are the cast of a web series by the same name. This video was created for promotional and entertainment purposes. It was written and sung by Felicia, who once again shows off her incredible pipes (also seen in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog). The whole thing in very tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at the world of MMORPGs. The general reference is people play characters called "avatars", which are supposed to be in-game incarnations of the player, designed the way the player wants. It mocks the way players can "fall in love" with other players' avatars without ever having seen the other player. Again, it is designe to be humorous for those who "get it". If you don't play MMOs or RPG at all, you very likely don't get it, and aren't too likely to like or understand the song and video. For those of us who do, it is absolutely sheer brilliance, capturing the world and it's players' feelings amazingly well, all with a catch beat. Kudos to everyone involved, and I hope this encourages similar future projects. And oh yeah - if you haven't watched The Guild, go do so now!

If you are not a fan of Felicia Day, and her cadre of talented actors in the web series The Guild, consider this a most awesome introduction. Great video, hysterically funny, and made of win. Gift it to your friends, buy a copy for your dog (and your online horde), and dance along in the comfort of your own home while you play your favorite MMO. For serious. p.s.
