Wait before you judge.

At first, based on the preview, I thought this video was laughable. I kept focusing on Robyn's hair while making silent, cynical judgements to myself. I was about to move on, but then something brought me back. I watched it again. I downloaded it. Three minutes later, I was moved. This is affecting stuff here not be taken lightly. So if you're like me and you scoffed at the preview, give it another chance. This video has the power to touch you if you let it.

An Ode to the Power of Music, Both Heartbreaking and Uplifting

Though I prefer the version with Ola Salo also singing vocals, "Dream On" has been one of my favorite songs of all time for years. I was delighted recently when Pitchforkmedia's published list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time included this as one of its picks. The marriage of dark, heartrending lyrics with a soaring, life-affirming synth hook is absolutely irresistable. It's a shame to see how the philistines respond to art like this. I generally watch mainstream music videos and shake my head at how shallow they are. However, seeing how many responses to "Dream On" can't even get past the color of the singer's hair, or won't even listen to the entire song, confirms how hollow the average person's musical tastes are. Thanks Robyn, thanks iTunes. This is a gorgeous song and a great video.

Haircut is GREAT

She has a great voice and hey - I like the haircut. It's ORIGINAL. Just because she doesn't have the basic long-haired bimbo look, it seems to really shake people up. Jeez, how sexist can you be? She has a great voice and it's refreshing to see someone different for a change.
