Hallelujah
Jeff Buckley, son of sixtie's folk artist, Tim Buckley, has eclipsed his father's fame in the short period of time he had in his life. His is an amazing, ethereal voice absolutely filled with passion and power. He had the most remarkable breath control as evidenced on any take of "Hallelujah": just try to push YOUR breath out for as long as he did on the last chorus. There are more of his songs that merit listening, the hurt-filled "Lilac Wine" and the soulful "Lover, You Should Have Come Over", and, of course, "Grace". Not only would he have become a huge success, but also has, even though he is not here with us. He left us his music and for that I give thanks.
