Another hit for U2

When I first heard "Get on Your Boots," I felt ambivalent because it was new and different than anything they had done before. At first listen it reminded me of "Vertigo" which is not one of my favorite U2 tracks. I gave the song another chance and bought it from iTunes to support the guys and it grew on me. The video is awesome! It definitely compliments the song, especially the "Let me in the sound" part. Love it! Everything U2 releases is music at its finest. I'm counting down the days until the release of "No Line on the Horizon" on March 3rd! <3

THANK GOD FOR U2.

C'mon gang. We're not talking about a normal band here. I think there are a few artists out there that deserve to have the benefit of the doubt. I personally would pay to see this band sing Happy Birthday Live so I don't get why anyone wouldn't be DYING for them to come out with original music. Like many of the reviewers I cannot wait for their new album and have a sneaky suspicion that the enlightened group of irishmen will own 2009 as well. Just click buy and quit taking yourself so seriously that you feel you can criticize the creativity of one of the most powerful bands of our time. This band hasn't made a comeback ever. They have gracefully ruled their profession since the early 80's and don't appear to be losing momentum at all. I will savor this album like a fine bottle of wine; with a humble appreciation for the passion and creativity that continues to come from a band that has enjoyed enough success to tear apart TEN BANDS. They are truly an amazing anomoly and at the very least should be appreciated as such. LONG LIVE U2!

A Welcome Change of Pace

This video is trippy and wild - and that's exactly what I needed from new U2. Great song and even better video!

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

Through a combination of zealous righteousness and post-punk experimentalism, U2 became one of the most popular rock & roll bands of the '80s. They were rock & roll crusaders during an era of synthesized pop and heavy metal, equally known for their sweeping sound as for their grandiose statements about politics and religion. The Edge provided the group with a signature sound by creating sweeping sonic landscapes with his heavily processed, echoed guitars. Though the Edge's style wasn't conventional,...
