A Video As Beautiful As The Song

This is one of the most simple and beautiful music videos I've ever laid my eyes on. Done entirely in one shot, we see Sara on the side of the road, leaning on a building, in what we imagine is a city. But as the camera dollys out to follow Sara walking, it becomes apparent that the street is not the relevent backdrop of the video. As we reveal more and more of the 'environment', a man walks by holding an airplane (it was at that moment that I knew something great was coming) - essentially, we float away in space, as balls of light, umbrellas, and flashlights held by people create an elaborate spacescape. The timing of Sara, the camera man, the dolly grip, and all of the 'actors' that come in wielding their lights or umbrellas is impeccable. And since this was all one shot, everything had to be perfect (I wonder how many takes they had to do). Sara looks beautiful, lamenting one of her strongest songs, and you can't take your eyes away for even a second. All the elements work together to create one of my favorite music videos of the past few years at least.

Pulled into the Gravity of Bareilles' Excellence

"Gravity" is the perfect title since Sara Bareilles truly pulls you in with this melancholic yet mellow, bone-chilling yet classical ballad about dependence on someone's love. It's the exact opposite of the happy-go-lucky tune of "Love Song" while maintaining outstanding lyrics and the irresistable notes of her piano-playing. It's impossible to not be marked simply by listening once to this song, much less after watching the video with the naturally-gifted talent of Sara Bareilles. Whether it leaves you in tears or speechless in awe, it's just more of a reason to purchase this video.

Love It!!!

This song makes me cry for some reason. Each person who hears it probably has a different meaning to them, but even though it makes me sad, I can't get enough of it. It is beautiful. I like the video, nothing over the top, so simple and yet beautiful. Hands down one of my favorite songs ever in my 41 years of life.
