Very Profound
This is the first single off of the Flobots album, Fight With Tools. This is the first song I have ever heard by the Flobots. It has some very profound lyrics. They ponder if someone can ride a bike with no handlebars, can keep rythmn with no metronome, and can lead a nation with a microphone, among other things. These are excellent metaphors. Additionally, the Flobots, include a guitarist, drummer, violinist, and a trumpet player. The music video is in cartoon form and narrates the song very well. The Flobots sound is very refreshing in this age of hip-hop, and I look forward to hearing more from them.
What this song is about.
This song and video are about two friends who go separate ways, one to corporate and the other to a normal life. Eventually the government takes over the one with a normal life and he gathers people and they riot against the government. The one in corporate watches as his guards kill everyone and the last thing he sees in his friends dying eyes is his hatred of him. Even though it has a dark meaning its a pretty good song.
NICE
the song, when heard, seems almost funny, as you think the guy is just bragging, but when you see this video you realize what the song is actually talking about and its a great message
