Customer Reviews

Artistic and A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

This video for Helena exceded everyones expectations and proved that music videos could still be artistic, creative, and beautifully made. This music video takes place at a funeral of a young woman (representative of the Ways' grandmother) and MCR is leading the service. This is an amazing direction for a fantastic band with a message, and you should def buy this. I did, not that that means anything lol. But still, this video is not one that can ever be redone. It's unique style is a landmark in the field of music videos. Also, get Ghost of You. Thats also a great music video. -a

Beautifully Made, Love it

This song is one of the most emotional and beautiful songs I have ever heard. For those who dont know the song is about the lead singers, Gerard way's, Grandmother. His grandmother had a deep impact on him and did a lot of things for him so he wrote a song about her. The video shows just how much Gerard cares about her. Through his expressions and his motions. Especially when he sings for the first time in the video "Well I've been holding on tonight." When you watch the video you feel so involved in the singing and funeral thats being portrayed. When Gerard sings he seems so real and you can tell he's emotional about this song and his Grandmother. This is probably my favorite song of My Chemical Romance out of all of there songs. They have so many good songs from all of their albums but everytime I keep coming back to this one. And it's always the Top Most Played song on my ipod. The points in this video I absolutely love, 1./* The dancing at the beginning. Absolutely amazing. Really draws you in and sets the mood for the video 2./* Expressions made from the singer. I know it sounds weird, but you feel so connected to him. 3./* The umbrella dancers in the rain. Wow. Very neat but perfectly handled. 4./* Last but not least, and probably my favorite, Is the dancing of the girl in the video known as "Helena." Absolutely breathtaking. You hold in all of your breath as you watch and as soon as she falls in the casket you feel like you have just let go of something you know your going to miss forever. The dancing she does represents the crossing into afterlife. In this case, Heaven. The whole video is amazing it just shows you what this band is about and how amazingly talented they are. MCR rocks and always will.

2?

Years Active: '00s, '10s

With their emo-punk songwriting, theatrical vocals, and neo-goth appearance, My Chemical Romance rose from the East coast underground to the forefront of modern rock during the early 2000s. In keeping with the tragic element of the group's best-known singles — including "Helena," "I'm Not OK (I Promise)," and "Welcome to the Black Parade" — My Chemical Romance has roots in catastrophe, as frontman Gerard Way decided to form the band after watching the World Trade Center collapse on September...
