Fantastic.

I haven't a clue where to even begin. Let's start with Modest Mouse. This band does absolutely no wrong in my eyes. Even songs that I wasn't originally crazy about, such as Autumn Beds, for example, eventually grew on me and now has a play count of about 30. Next, Heath Ledger. Amazing man. I am even more impressed that he is not only an incredible actor but also, in my opinion, an equally good director. The actual song "King Rat" is beyond brilliant. This video is the icing on the cake. I just watched the iTunes FREE Music Video of the Week, and I felt it was so awful that it wasn't even deserving of my rating. This however seems to pull through as an incredible video without interpretive dance, autotunes, or "pretty girls" in black dresses.

Great music video & song, directed by the late Heath Ledger. Powerful message about whaling done in an Original way. Charming, organic illustrations as well!

So moving...

I have always been disgusted by commercial whaling, but this video just reiterates how wrong whaling really is. I always think about how I would feel in certain situations, and it helps me make good decisions. That's pretty much what this video did... it put humans in the position of the whales, and it doesn't look so good when WE are on the other end of the harpoon. And bravo to Heath Ledger. We miss you so much! There will never be another actor as talented or kind as you. We will never forget you.
