Big Disappointment

Paper Planes is probably my favorite song by M.I.A. and my favorite song of 2007. Its just one of those songs that you can proudly call amazing. And thats why I was so shocked when this music video was released.... This song could've been made into a brilliant music video. But what she chose to make was boring, not very visually stimulating, and was again BORING. I'm giving this a 3-star instead a oner or a twoer because I love the song itself so much. I almost want her to remake it. Gah. I don't really know what to say about this. I don't even know

paper planes...?

wow. she looks like sanjaya malacar trying to do a good impression of a gangster.

Know THIS Before Judging The Video

M.I.A. wanted to originally shoot this video in Latin America and make a really awesome video that really deals with the issue of this song (which is immigration, third world countries, not just some stupid song about nothing which I'm guessing is why Americans have taken such a liking to it). She was on tour in the US at the time (when the song wasn't as huge) and currently in New York City doing work for MTV so she wasn't able to get the video she wanted. So this is the video that came out due her giving more love to the US, so don't judge it...I still think its a fine video for an AWESOME song with a MESSAGE that people should listen to! Rock on M.I.A!!

If you read a lot about new music on the Web, odds are pretty good that, at some point between the September 2004 release of "Galang" and the March 2005 release of Arular, you were struck with the urge to turn your computer off or maybe even heave it out of a nearby window. If you don't read a lot about new music on the Web, the preceding sentence indicates how bewildering and draining the chatter about M.I.A. became. Arular, M.I.A.'s first album, leaked well before its official release, allowing...
