Sugar, We're Going Down Review

This music video may appear to be strange because of the whole idea of a freak that has antlers, but if you watch and use that brain that was given to you, you'll understand that it is a simple love story. In the beginning the "boy with the antlers" is pretty much is seen as a freak, but one day he meets a girl who sees the "real" person or just simply looks don't seem to matter to her. So they spend time together and begin to fall in love with each other. However the father of the girl, doesn't approve of her dating or seeing the "antler-boy", and gives the impression that he is prejudice towards the "antler-boy". During the post chorus, the video shows the “antler-boy” going to a shed and attempting to cut of his antlers, but is caught in the act by the girl, and becomes a bit depressed. Then the girl lets him know that he’s fine the way he is, so they continue to see each other, and continue to fall in love. At the climax of the video, (the bridge of the song), the father decides to shoot the "antler-boy", but his plan falls apart. He ends up getting hit by a truck and the "antler-boy" goes to his aid. The twist of this music video is that the father isn't exactly 100% human either. When the father gets hit by the truck his boots fall off, and it turns out he has deer legs instead of your average human legs. And this shows the viewer that all he was doing was in a way protecting his daughter from being with a "half-human" person or whatever you want to call it. He did not want his daughter to end up with someone like him. Which in a way I guess you sorta have to feel bad for the father, who just wanted the best for his daughter. But anyways I think I just over-analyzed this music video. In the end, the girl and the "antler-boy" end up together, and the father learns to deal with it. I think the concept of the video was a simple true love that was corrupted by someone's pride, but in the end true love prevails and overcomes everything and all that good stuff. Oh and ps: in between scenes of the video, Fall Out Boy is shown singing the song. I know I didn’t really give them much credit in this review but they weren’t really that involved. But a fun fact to share is that when they were shooting the performance of Fall Out Boy, Patrick Stump had to stand on a box to look as tall as Pete and Joe. Just because of that I tip my hat off to Patrick Stump.

awesomely great

I admit that this video is a little confusing, but if you are a Fall Out Boy fan you'll love it. Hey this is when Pete was a little chubbier so all of you who liked him then buy it and you can watch it forever!!

awesome video!

Great band, great song, and great video!
