Customer Reviews

one of the best

I think this is one of U2's best songs. Bono's voice is perfect here, really. It was during the stage when he was having some trouble with his throat and he changed his voice accordingly. It's very grand. Also this version is a remake. The original is an '80's b-side, where Bono sings even the "sweetest thing" echos. And the story behind the song is also endearing. During the recording of The Joshua Tree, Bono forgot his wife's birthday and gave her this song as an apology. When this version came out, she made sure all the profits went to her charity, Children of Chernobyl.

The Sweetest Thing

One of the few rock bands who can make an apology ultra hip and cool.

Favorite Song, favorite video

This was my favorite song by U2 ever since I first heard it, but after watching the video, it is not only great, but hilarious.
