Customer Reviews

I concede this isn't my fav video of hers, but...

I applaud Carlton's boldness in taking on dancing alone in this video. I completely agree that this is not a venue for bashing and am thouroughly disgusted with the ways in which people choose to espouse their opinions with regard to the song or video. There is a complete lack of insightfulness in the vast majority of negative comments about artists, songs, etc. on iTunes (i.e. "I expected her to be prettier...way prettier" posted by someone "reviewing" this video) . Now I don't know who is posting these comments, but I'm 16 and I know the difference between reviewing and bashing, I think most people can figure it out. Just think before you post please. Anyways, as much as I love this song, this is not my favorite video by Carlton, but again props to her for not taking the easy route by hiring a couple of actors to act out the lyrics for her. It's abstract, an interpretation of what the song means for her, which some people will like while others won't. It's not a video meant to assert her skills as a dancer, to show the world how awesome and multi-faceted she is, it's just her translating HER lyrics and their meanings into movement. But, that's just one opinion. Sorry if this came off lecture-y or didn't help anyone at all.

Wonderful

First of all, Anonymous, this is not a place for bashing so just shut up. Lets see you perform like that. Oh, wait. You can't. Whoops. She's a great artist and you're just in denial for whatever illogical reason you have in your head. You have no idea who she is so you can just keep your thoughts to yourself cause no one cares at all about what you have to say. And Kendal-whatever, she IS an amazing dancer, and I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. Lets see you dance like that. And I tried dancing before and never came close to dancing like that. So anyway, about the video. The song first of all is very beautiful and deep. It really tells a lot. And the video also is wonderful, and doesn't hurt the song in anyway unlike song of the music videos I've seen. So I suggest buying it, cause its a great deal.

Triple threat

Vanessa's talents for singing a playing piano are amazing, we have already established that, now you can see that she is also an incredible dancer.

Along with Michelle Branch and Nelly Furtado, Vanessa Carlton helped usher in a new era of female songwriters during the early 2000s.
