Emerging from the Bronx in 1994, Aventura changed the rules of the Dominican bachata by fusing this traditionally minded genre with strong R&B stylings and the slick sonics of mainstream American pop. Aptly titled We Broke The Rules, the quartet's second album includes the smash "Obsesión," which was covered by Frankie J and remains a bachata staple to this day. Aventura has escaped the confines of bachata by collaborating with a variety of Latin artists — from reggaetoneros Don Omar and Wisin y Yandel to Mexican diva Thalía, who shines on the duet "No, No, No."
