And writing about music is so subjective, and everyone is truly is an expert. But anyway . . ."

    • 1. "So Lonely" by The Police: "I came upon this in my early 20s, much later then when it came out, but it was such a feel-good song about feeling bad. It's defiant in its... loneliness. And it's a great song."
    • 2. "Life During Wartime" by Talking Heads: "Growing up in Providence, RI, we only had like one station that played contemporary music. Summer camp was a chance to get turned on to new music and I had a counselor who was obsessed with the Talking Heads. Not hard to see why . . ."
    • 3. "Publish My Love" by Rogue Wave: "A newer band we've really gotten behind on the show. Great, fun, smart. This album is one of my favorites of the year."
    • 4. "Train In Vain" by The Clash: "A classic Clash song. One of our exec. producers views my musical tastes as a bit... well, soft. And while he would consider this one of the softer Clash songs, this one's for you, Bob."
    • 6. "Here Comes Your Man" by Pixies: "As was this...the original run of the Pixies was a bit before my time (I was living in Providence with the one radio station). But seeing them at Coachella was a concert highlight."
    • 9. "Patience" by Guns N' Roses: "I was at a party at some girl's house in 7th grade. And then this song came on, and like a code for everyone in the room, all the guys and all the girls knew to just start hooking up (except for me). I'll never forget feeling totally out of place while he just whistled away."
