"This list covers some performances that really changed my mind, and I think the minds of many others. My intention is to pay homage to unforgettable live performers. I chose these for their power and honesty, and perhaps magic, which made them unforgettable. The greatest performers are creating all the time, in everything; their performances are part of a greater picture (I've included bootleg tapes and field recordings in some cases, in the name of that same creative spirit). Of course this is only a small piece of a large pie. So thanks to the all players, and to those that help keep the live music live!"
