Not even close

This is NOT representative of what Texans like to hear. Sure, a few of the songs are excellent Texas Favorites. Most of the songs here do not represent Texas country.

All Hat; No Cattle

This is a typical list of Texas country music as compiled by someone NOT from Texas, or far removed from it at best. There's some good stuff here, but it lacks much of what makes Texas music unique, inspired and inspiring.

This Doesn't Represent Texas Country

Whoever compiled this list is obviously not well versed in contemporary Texas Country. The Basics contain mostly songs that have the name Texas or some other reference to it. Mentioning Texas doesn't qualify it as Texas Country. Also, putting Miranda Lambert on the basics page shows that the compiler has no idea what is going in the Texas scene right now.

The closest this compilation comes to being a true Texas Country mix is in the deep cuts with Roger Creager, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Jason Allen, Cory Morrow, Stoney Larue, and Jack Ingram/Pat Green before they sold out.

Do not waste your money buying this compilation. There are several iMix's that do a better job compiling Texas Country. Or just listen to 95.9 The Ranch in Fort Worth, or True Country 105.3 in Lubbock.
