    • 2. "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)" by Arcade Fire: "I saw The Arcade Fire at Summerstage in Central Park. I loved their energy and spirit . . . when I got the album it was the lyrics and intent that I fell in love with. A great band. "
    • 5. "Coming in from the Cold" by Bob Marley: "You could pick any Bob Marley song, but this has always been a favorite. The lyric is exceeded only by the killing drum riff at the top of the song."
    • 6. "Synchro System" by King Sunny Ade: "The model for what a live band should sound like. There are 22 people in this band I’ve seen them and it was an indescribable experience, impossible to not dance, uplifting . . . inconceivably deep and deceptively simple at the same time."
    • 7. "April Fools" by Rufus Wainwright: "The first song I heard by Rufus . . . I’ve since gotten to perform with him and lent him my barn for rehearsal. One of the great songwriters of our generation."
    • 9. "On a Night Like This" by Bob Dylan: "I had to end with a Dylan song, as he has reached almost perma-play on my CD player. I’m rediscovering all of his old stuff. This is a great song that he recorded with The Band."
