Watch Ugly Betty Thursdays at 8/7c, only on ABC.

    • 2. "Sweet Sticky Thing (Quad Mix)" by Ohio Players: "All of their album covers were legendary for their creative sensuality but their music was legendary for their horn arrangements and Sugarfoot's vocals."
    • 3. "Here's to Life" by Shirley Horn: "She just recently passed. Her vocals and piano playing makes you feel like you're in the middle of a smoke-filled jazz club. Shirley plays everything slow and milks every note like molasses."
    • 5. "A Long Walk" by Jill Scott: "Jill Scott is one of my favorite new breakout artists. Her Philly sound mixes urban, jazz, and funk with a spirited and always fluid vocal. She makes you want to pack a picnic lunch and head for the park."
    • 6. "Aja" by Steely Dan: "They are one of my all-time favorite bands. We played 'Peg' in our marching band in high school. Every cut on the Aja album is gold."
    • 7. "America" by Rita Moreno: "America is the spiciest song in Broadway history. And Anita is the role I've always wanted to play."
    • 8. "Appalachian Spring Suite: Doppio movimento" by Aaron Copland, London Symphony Orchestra & William Warfield: "Our best American composer. Aaron Copeland was the composer my father would play on the 8-track during our trips in our Ford Econoline van. I'm overcome with memories when I listen to the 'Billy the Kid's Suite'."
    • 10. "That's the Way of the World" by Earth, Wind & Fire: "I could list so many songs from this incomparable band. Maurice White's arrangements and Phillip Bailey's vocals and horns never cease to make me feel joy."
    • 11. "Everlasting Love" by Chaka Khan & Rufus: "She has the most vocal fire and range of any living singer in my opinion. She can do soul, jazz, blues...you name it. Plus, Chaka Kahn was the first concert I ever went to in middle school."
