Actually People Actually Actual Play

I like this show; it is actual, actual play. What do I mean by that? Most Tabletop RPG podcasts that call themselves "actual play," are just archiving their play experience. Actual Play is actually a discussion of tabletop gaming that uses our play experiences as a focus for discussion of rules, theory, or our interpersonal relationships and how they effect play at the table.

It's not just that they get this definition correct, but their discussions, so far (episode 6), are interesting, thoughtful, and thorough. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this podcast becomes as they get more experience under their belt. That's why I can't give 5 stars yet... I think there's still room for some growth.

If you are allergic to other "actual play" podcasts, don't write this one off until experiencing the difference.

Excellent TTRPG show

APAP is an engaging and thoughtful reflection on the actual play of role-playing games. I enjoy how the hosts/players have varying degrees of experience and widely different viewpoints on gaming. Will moderates the discussion with a light touch, but keeps everyone on point and sharing with each other.
If you like tabletop role-playing games and the stories that come from them, this show should be in your feed.

A fabulous rpg podcast

APAP takes a thoughtful look at rpg systems and how their structure informs play. The APAP cast has varying backgrounds, experiences and likes/dislikes that give their commentary depth. I especially like that they cover story-heavy games like Fiasco and Grey Ranks as well as Fate-based games. Highly recommended.
