Overall, a good start
If you come to An American Atheist looking for detailed, original, counter-theistic arguments, you'll probably be disappointed. However, when looked at as a "preaching to the choir" show, it's very well done.
The host and his many guests are average atheists talking about their feelings towards various news stories pertaining to religion. If you have heard the opinion of any non-religious person, An American Atheist may seem a bit repetitive. Nothing radical is said, which can at times lead to blandness but is not a huge problem.
The true value of An American Atheist lies in its production, which is some of the best I've heard. Music and dialogue flow smoothly and sound quality is always superb, unlike a lot of podcasts I listen to.
A few suggestions:
1) Invite an "agnostic" or conservative atheist - hell, even a liberal theist - to provide some opposing commentary.
2) Try having special, regular segments that break up the monotony of the format.
3) Continue making an awesome podcast! Here's hoping for many more episodes to come. :)
Whoa!
This show is phenominal. I'm also a subclscriber to the good atheist, atheist talk, and a couple others And I enjoy this one the most because it's talking bout pertinate topics in very matter of fact manner which makes it a great recommendation for my theistic friends
One of many
As time goes on and the atheist movement becomes better at delivering the message shows like this help with the clarity. Thanks!
