Wonderful
Theses are an excelent help for people who are newer around horses, like myself, and just need some basic training on what to do around a horse. Keep it up!!
Leaves a lot to wonder
Truth be told, I only saw the worming video and the transitions video. I'm sorry if I am not accurate. However, I have some problems with these videos. I have been riding for 5 years and working off my lessons, so I am pretty familiar with most horse scenarios. The transitioning video was okay, except it didn't explain transitions very clearly. Basically, he said "nudge and cluck to up-transition". To transition to canter (or lope), though, you put your outside leg farther back and "nudge" your horse while you are turning, to get the correct lead. To down-transition you sink your weight, slow your seat and possibly shorten the outside rein. To worm (or deworm, as he called it) it is easiest and safest for you and the horse to put the horses halter on and drape the rope through a ring or over a pole or something, so that if he set back, he would come loose quickly and not panic. It is important to worm when he hasn't eaten, because wormer will stick to food in his stomache and not work. Then weigh your horse with a weight-tape, set the worrmer to your horses weight, pull the cap off, stick it in the horses's mouth, and squeeze it out. Once you have squeezed the wormer out, I find it helpful to hold the horse's head up and rub his neck until he swallows so that he doesn't spit it out...horses hate wormer, and that was why his horse kept backing up.
Don't even bother
this podcast is not well made at all and he doesn't describe things very well, especially in the basic transitions video. I have been riding for 6 years and even though i'm not nearly as old as him, i can explain better than that. There are plenty of horse podcasts on itunes that are well made and informal but it doesn't include these
