If Not For the Lack Of Quality Control It Would've Gotten More Stars

This is a reasonably interesting (and often used) premise for a story; a woman dies but doesn't go to Heaven and spends a great deal of time haunting her family and herself until she discovers the reason, more or less.
What makes me give the podcast only an 'ok' rating is the hideous sound quality. At times it was fine, then it either became so quiet that it was inaudible even with the volume turned to maximum or else it became ear-splittingly loud, sometimes within the span of one episode.
There was apparently no editing done even though there appears to be post-production work. At numerous times the author/reader flubs a line and simply rereads it without bothering to edit out the mistake. A few times she reads something in a manner that makes me think that she's read the line wrong but either didn't notice or didn't care enough to re-record it. Worst of all, there is one episode where I was treated to the joy of having the author blow a raspberry in my ear at least three times as she became frustrated at making mistakes. This was almost enough to make me stop listening for good.
One last thing that I noticed; there don't seem to be many, if any, moments when the characters speak using contractions. Outside of a Miramax period piece when was the last time you've heard someone, in fact everyone, consistently using the phrases 'can not', 'will not', 'do not', etc. in place of 'can't', 'won't' or 'don't'? That very nearly drove me crazy.
It'd be nice (contraction, see?) if this was recorded again with more attention to these details but ultimately if you have the patience, you might find it to be a story worth listening to.

Good Story so far.

The person reading is pretty good.

Sound Quality after Chapter 1 is bad

I was enjoying the story, but after Chapter 1 the sound got really quiet. Had to stop listening at Chapter 4 because I couldn't hear it anymore. The storyline seems interesting. Would have loved to finish it
