Customer Reviews
An Acoustic Revelation in Games Journalism
Capsule-sized reviews wrapped in impossibly catchy tunes, complemented with an equally witty podcast. The songs actually take you along the curve of the reviewer's experience, instead of simply being stuck with their takeaway. I want more reviews and I want them to be timelier, but some of these 'reviews' are catchy tunes in their own right, and we shouldn't rush the artistic process, especially since this is the one clear case of games journalism being an art unto itself. Print may be dead, but if content like this becomes the norm, the written word isn't far behind.
Phenomenal Creativity
What Rebecca does should not be qualified as a video game review-- and that's the best part. A better description is a video game experience retold, and put to music. If you are looking for report card letter grades or single-digit decimal numbers between 1 and 10 for your reviews, you'll find plenty of that kind of thing elsewhere, and in truth, I hope to never find it here. I see this as an astonishingly creative and refreshing approach to 'musing' about games.
